Identification and study of mechanisms for cancer prevention by novel dietary constituents and mechanisms for cancer enhancement by overeating and obesity. Mechanisms of dietary prevention of cancer: Inhibition of colon cancer by plant flavonoids through induction of cell cycle arrest; prevention of skin tumor promotion through glucocorticoid hormone and the mediation of signal transduction cascades that control cell proliferation/differentiation.
